To this you need to know the beginning 🙂 I was a book blogger.
Originally I wanted a way what was neat and tidy, organised, where I could review the books I read. This was primarily for me but if others found them helpful too, well that’s always a good thing 🙂
It took me a long time to develop as a blogger. My first blog was purely book reviews. My second, an upgraded version of the first, also had articles and memes – definitely more successful. As I continued to blog my reasons for blogging changed. Through doing memes, I was now in touch with the blogging community and I liked it. I wanted to help people, hence writing articles. In the end, my blog wasn’t just for me to keep track of my books, it was also a way of communicating with the blogosphere and mutually helping each other.
I started to review books for authors… this was fine at first, I enjoyed it. In the end, I’d be getting too many requests per month and I didn’t have time to read the books I wanted! So I knocked some back. My reviews were always very honest and some authors got verbally aggressive with me. Why am I spending my spare time reading books I don’t want to read, reviewing them honestly, then getting hell because they don’t agree with my opinion? Yeah, I didn’t know either. I lost all passion for books and stopped blogging – nothing to blog!
It’s been about a year since I read my last book I think. In truth I miss it. I’ve recently bought a new Kindle so I can start again on a casual basis. I also miss blogging.
I started this blog, not so it would be a blog about books, but a blog for me. I want a positive, upbeat blog. A blog to share positive information, lifestyle topics, to share achievements with each other… but also somewhere to post about my hobbies 🙂 My hobbies are who I am.
This is day three of my new blog being live and already I’ve had visitors (thank you 😀 ) and seen some very lovely lifestyle blogs. My goal is to connect, make new bloggy friends, and share the positiveness! 😀
Why did you start blogging? Tell me in the comments 🙂
